We will keep you informed of the progress in your case and hope that you will be happy with the service that you receive from us. However, in the event that you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service please speak to the Principal about your concerns. She will try very hard to address any issues that you might have with our service and confirm the results to you in writing.

If you do choose to register a formal complaint with us, we prefer this to be done in writing but can do so in person or over the phone if you choose. We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint in writing within 3 working days of its receipt by us.

If your dissatisfaction relates to a bill, you may also have a right to apply to the court for an assessment of the bill under part Ill of the Solicitors Act 1974. If you apply for an assessment, the legal ombudsman may not deal with your complaint. Also, we may be entitled to charge interest on all or part of a bill that remains unpaid.

We will then seek to establish the exact nature and circumstances of your complaint. You will normally be asked to do this in our acknowledgement letter. We will invite you to do this in writing, over a telephone call or in a meeting with the Principal. After our deliberations, we will write to you with our findings, conclusions and finally, our proposed resolution to your complaint. We will try very hard to ensure that your complaint is resolved and your confidence in us restored. We will aim to send this letter to you within 21 days of our letter of acknowledgement of your complaint or we will notify you of the reasons why this is not possible e.g. holidays and a deadline by which we will be able to respond fully.

We hope that you will contact us in the first instance with any problems concerning our advice or service. However, you are free to contact the Legal Ombudsman on 0300 555 0333 or visit www.legalombudsman.org.uk or write to PO Box 6167 SLOUGH SL1OEH This is an independent and impartial body that will look into your complaint providing you have allowed us up to 8 weeks to resolve your complaint. You must contact the Legal Ombudsman within six months of our last contact with you to resolve your complaint.
